Jacqueline Anderson Mezzo-Soprano

Jacqueline Anderson has been called, “The Voice,” whose performances personify the “reflection of God’s gifts.”  She is a versatile mezzo-soprano who has inspired diverse audiences throughout the United States for many years.  She is well versed in classical music, opera, oratorio, art songs, Broadway, spirituals, contemporary Christian, traditional and contemporary gospel.

Ms. Anderson is best known as a soloist for worship services, Bible conferences, retreats and other church-related occasions, but has appeared with the Indianapolis Opera chorus in The Marriage of Figaro, Il Trovatore, Don Pasquale, and The Merry Widow.  She has also appeared with the Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore as Mercedes in Carmen, Mrs. Ott in Susannah, Olga in The Merry Widow and as the alto soloist for Messiah.  In November 2003, Ms. Anderson released her first CD entitled, ‘Til the First Lady Sings, which is a concert of sacred music, recorded live at Colonial Baptist Church in Randallstown, Maryland, where her husband is the pastor.

Ms. Anderson received vocal training at Martin University and Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as private studies with soprano Anna Lee Hamilton and bass-baritone Joseph Eubanks. She is currently coached by mezzo-soprano Margaret Guchemand in Baltimore, Maryland.

While Ms. Anderson enjoys singing a variety of music, she says that no music brings her more joy and fulfillment than the music that gives praise to God, who is the “Giver of Voice.”
